Ask Melissa
Askmelissa.com is a great website that has information on lifestyle products - including eco-friendly products. Recently they covered one of our products, the Stop Junk Mail Kit. They created a eco-friendly table of products for Moms. And now they're giving away a chance to 'Win the Table'. What a great idea and a great opportunity. To find out more, visit http://www.askmelissa.com/index.php/NBC/eco-moms2/ and take a shot! Good luck.

I'm excited to start our new Sonoma Living Green blog. Not sure what we'll talk about, but I'm sure it will be interesting.
For starters I invite everyone to tell me your best eco tips. Hopefully, like me, you're looking for ways to live a greener life everyday. I'll put the best tips on our online store 'eco tips' page (find us at http://www.sonomalivinggreen.com/).
I was really in the habit of using paper towels - too many. I noticed that I would go through quite a few just cooking dinner. I was really trying to use cloth towels, but the paper towels were just so convenient sitting right there in reach on my kitchen counter. Aha! That was the problem. So I moved them to under the sink. Not having them right there at easy reach reminded me to grab my dish towel instead. I've now progressed to having a roll of paper towels last me about 3 months!
I use cloth towels for just about everything in the kitchen now. Of course this raises another question - how about all that laundry? Doesn't that use more resources than just using the paper towels? Lots of conversation about that out there, but based on the research that I have found, the answer is that using paper towels is still less eco-friendly than washing the dish towels.
So don't forget to let me know your best tips!! Include your initials and city and state if you would like credit on our site.
